The shoulder straps are made of waxed cotton braid.  These straps are softer, lighter and more comfortable than typical leather or vinyl straps.  (We think they are also prettier).

Despite its delicate look, the braid is strong, durable and water resistant.

The strap is approximately 7/8" wide.  The strap drop (the length from the top of the strap to the top of the bag) is about 12".  The straps are spaced 8" apart for maximum comfort and to reduce slippage.
